Activities and follow-up
本頁尚未翻譯成中文,以下為英文原文。
Activities capture the work and communication around customers and sales. Lim & Co links each activity to the record it concerns so the next person has context.
Why it works this way
Section titled “Why it works this way”A task records an action to complete, including its due date, priority and assignees. Completing or reopening it preserves whether the follow-up is still outstanding.
A note records information worth keeping with a customer or sales record. An event records scheduled time, attendees, location and reminders.
A call log records a call’s participants, timing and summary. It documents a conversation without turning that conversation into a task or calendar appointment.
Linking an activity through Related To keeps the customer, sale and follow-up connected. The Calendar provides a time-based view of Events; tasks, notes and call logs remain their own activity types.
How it relates
Section titled “How it relates”Lim & Co might record a call with a contact, add a note about the design brief, schedule a meeting as an event and assign a task for the revised quotation. Each record answers a different question while pointing back to the same customer work.
- Task: An action that someone needs to complete.
- Note: Information kept for future reference.
- Event: Scheduled time involving people or a place.
- Call log: A record of a telephone conversation.
- Related To: The business record that gives an activity its context.
- Calendar: A date-based view of Events.
Common misunderstandings
Section titled “Common misunderstandings”- An event and a task are not interchangeable. One reserves time; the other tracks work to complete.
- A note is not a call log. Use the activity type that explains what happened.
- The Calendar does not combine every activity type. It presents Events.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”Activities can provide follow-up context for Accounts and Contacts. Their visibility still depends on ownership, permissions and sharing.
