Team management
Copy for AI
Team management is where a manager looks after the people they lead: how much each person has invoiced this month against their target, what their customers owe overdue and what they have quoted. It is for team leaders and managers, not only for system administrators.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”Select Team management in the sidebar. It opens on Overview; Sales targets is the second tab. The entry appears when someone reports to you, when you lead a team, or when your role can set sales targets. Reporting lines and team leaders are set in System settings → Sharing & teams; see Sharing and teams.
Your team is everyone who reports to you, at any level, and the members of the teams you lead, sub-teams included. The people above you and the other leaders of your teams are not in it, and neither is anyone deactivated.
The overview
Section titled “The overview”At the top, choose the Month and the Team: My team, one of the teams you lead, or Whole company when your role sees the whole company. The table has one row per person, yours marked Me, and a Total row:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Member | The person; select the name to open their user account, where your role allows |
| Invoiced (net) | Issued invoices of the month with that person as Salesperson, less their credit notes, before tax |
| Target | Their target for the month, or Not set |
| Achieved | Invoiced against the target, as a percentage with a bar |
| Overdue | What their invoices owe past the due date today, with how many documents |
| Open quotations | Their Open quotations still valid today, before tax, with how many |
The Total row’s Achieved counts only the people who have a target. Amounts are in your company’s base currency.
Under the table, Shortcuts opens Team activity, the quotations, invoices or credit notes awaiting your approval, the Sales performance report and All reports, each only where your role reaches it.
What you can do
Section titled “What you can do”- Compare each person’s month with their target, and pick an earlier month to look back.
- Set or change monthly targets — see Sales targets.
- Follow up a team member’s overdue invoices, then open the team view for their activity.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”You need Dashboard List at any level. Each figure is read through your own Invoice and Quote lists, so you see the documents those lists show you; when they show only part of the company, the page says Figures count only the documents your own lists show. A column your role cannot list is left out. Setting targets needs Set sales targets; see Roles and permissions. Team management depends on your company’s plan; see the pricing page.
Why it works this way
Section titled “Why it works this way”Your team comes from the org chart. The page uses the reporting lines and teams your company already keeps, so a new salesperson appears under their manager as soon as they are added there, with nothing else to set up.
It shows no more than your lists do. A manager sees their team through the same permissions as everywhere else, so the overview never opens a document your role could not open.
Targets are invoiced sales before tax. A target is met by sales the customer has been invoiced for, less credit notes, so a quotation that is never billed does not count, and GST is not counted as sales.
Work faster
Section titled “Work faster”- Start the month with targets. Set next month’s targets on Sales targets before it begins — see Sales targets.
- Check your own progress on the dashboard. My target this month shows your own figure on the Dashboard.
- See the activity behind the numbers. Team activity opens the team view with each person’s week.
- Drill into a person’s sales. Sales performance report filters by Salesperson — see Report figures.
Examples
Section titled “Examples”Mid-month check. On 15 October Daniel Lim, who leads Lim & Co’s sales team, opens Team management. Mei Tan has invoiced SGD 12,600.00 against a target of SGD 25,000.00, so Achieved reads 50%. Kelvin’s row shows SGD 4,200.00 against SGD 20,000.00 (21%) and Overdue SGD 3,270.00, 2 documents. Daniel opens Team activity to see what Kelvin has planned this week.
The team’s total. In October Mei invoices SGD 27,500.00 against SGD 25,000.00 (110%) and Kelvin SGD 15,000.00 against SGD 20,000.00 (75%). Priya, a new salesperson, has invoiced SGD 3,000.00 and has no target yet. The Total row shows invoiced SGD 45,500.00 and target SGD 45,000.00, and its Achieved reads 94%: SGD 42,500.00 of SGD 45,000.00, without Priya’s sales.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”- Why don’t I see Team management in the sidebar? Nobody reports to you, you lead no team, and your role cannot set targets — or your company’s plan does not include it. Ask your administrator.
- Who counts as my team? The people who report to you at any level and the members of the teams you lead, including sub-teams. Your own managers are not included.
- Why is a person’s invoiced figure lower than I expected? Only issued invoices with them as Salesperson count, less credit notes, before tax, and only the documents your own lists show.
- Can I see a month that has ended? Yes. Choose it under Month.
- Why does it say “You have no team yet”? Nobody reports to you and you lead no team. An administrator sets this in System settings → Sharing & teams.
- Is this the same as the Team page under My work? No. The team view shows activities and tasks; Team management shows sales against targets.
