Concepts
Copy for AI
The concept pages explain the ideas behind easySales, not the buttons. Read them to learn how a quotation becomes an invoice, what issuing locks, how a payment settles a balance and why a mistake is fixed with a credit note. Each page stands alone, so you can start with the one you need.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”Open the help centre and select Concepts in its sidebar. Every how-to page in the other chapters links back to the concept page it relies on.

- Outstanding balance and payments — how money settles an invoice.
- Fixing mistakes — edit, cancel, credit, remove, void or refund.

Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”Reading help needs no permission. What each concept lets you do in the app depends on your role; see Roles, permissions and sharing.
Why it works this way
Section titled “Why it works this way”The ideas come before the buttons. easySales follows the rules your accountant and your customers already work by: an offer is not a debt, an issued invoice is not rewritten, and money is recorded when it moves. Once you know those rules, you can predict what a button will do before you press it.
One chain, one set of records. The quotation, the invoice, the receipt and the credit note are linked to each other and to the customer’s account. A concept page shows the whole link, so you can see why a change in one place shows up in another, such as a credit note in the customer’s statement.
Each page stands alone. You may arrive here from a search or from the app’s Help Centre button, in the middle of a task. Every concept page explains its idea in full and links to the how-to pages that carry it out.
Work faster
Section titled “Work faster”- Open help from the page you are on. The question-mark button in the top bar, Help Centre, opens the help for the module you are working in, in your language. See The workspace.
- Find any record by name or number. Press / outside a text box and type a customer’s name or a number such as INV-10000042; the search box finds accounts, contacts, quotations, invoices and opportunities. See The workspace.
- Look up a status in one table. Statuses lists what every quotation, invoice, credit note and receipt status means.
- Learn the chain with a week of practice. Your first week walks a new user through the sales chain in five days of practice.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”- What does quote to cash mean? It is the path every sale follows: record the customer, make an offer, invoice it, collect the money and, when needed, correct the charge or pay money back. See Quote to cash.
- Where should a new user start? Read Quote to cash, then Issuing and numbering and Fixing mistakes. Together they explain most of what happens to a sale in easySales.
- Do I need to read the concept pages before I start? No. Each how-to page gives you the steps; the concept page it links to explains why they work that way.
- How do I open the help page for the screen I am on? Select Help Centre, the question-mark button in the top bar. It is not shown on a phone.
- Where can I find what a term means? The Glossary defines the terms easySales uses, such as proforma number, credit note and refund.
