Create an account
When you start working with a new customer, create an account for it before anything else.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”You need Account Add and Edit, and User List to choose the Account Owner. Decide whether the customer is a company (Business) or an individual (Personal): you cannot change the type later.
- Select Accounts in the sidebar, then New account.
- Under Account type, choose Business or Personal.
- Under Account details, enter the Name and choose the Account Owner. For a Business account, add the Registration No., Industry, Website, Phone and Fax as needed; for a Personal account, the Phone.
- Under Customer profile, set the Default payment term and Default currency, and tick Customer, Supplier or both under Role. A customer’s Customer code is assigned automatically.
- Under Billing address, fill in Street, City, State, Postcode and Country.
- For a Personal account, complete the Person details — Salutation, Email, Mobile and the rest.
- Fill in any required fields under Additional information, and a Remark if it helps.
- Select Create account.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”easySales creates the account and opens it. A Personal account also gets its contact, with the same name, owner, address, phone and remark. New invoices for this customer take their due date from its Default payment term.
Rules to know
Section titled “Rules to know”- A Duplicate Alert appears if the name or details match an existing record. It is a warning: read it, and continue only if this really is a different customer.
- A Business account cannot be saved with the same name, or the same Registration No., as an active account in the same country.
- Fill in the billing Street. A quotation PDF prints the customer’s address only when it has one.
- At least one of Customer or Supplier must be ticked.
