My work

My work gathers the tasks and events that are yours, from every record and space, so you can plan the day without opening each customer. Start your morning here.

Select My work in the sidebar. The same sidebar group has Calendar, Team, Spaces and Message centre, each one select away. The number beside My work is your open tasks that are not waiting; the number beside Calendar is your events today.

The page header shows today’s date and the last day the page reaches, as Showing until, with a New task button.

Four counts sit at the top: Overdue, Due today, Today’s events and Waiting. Select one to jump to its list. Below, Today’s agenda lists today’s events, with Open calendar, and My tasks lists your open tasks in groups:

Group What is in it
Overdue Your tasks past their due date and not yet complete
Today Tasks due today
Next 7 days Tasks due later and events still to come
Waiting Tasks marked as waiting for someone or something, whatever their due date
No due date Tasks with no due date

Needs me shows the first five items of your To do from the message centre, without the tasks already listed here; All opens the full list. Each line in My tasks shows the record or space the activity is on. Select it to open the activity there.

“Today” is today in your own time zone, set under Preferences in My profile. An event stays out of Overdue; once it has ended without an outcome it shows in Needs me with Record outcome.

  • Post a task from the box under My tasks, and tick a task to complete it; Undo puts it back.
  • Narrow My tasks with the Sub-types filter.
  • Work through your tasks: tick sub-tasks, mark a task as waiting, complete it.
  • Record the outcome of an event once it is over.
  • Check your week on the calendar.
  • If you lead a team or have people reporting to you, see their week in the team view.

Your role needs at least View on the Activities row. My work shows only what is yours; it does not widen what you can see.

Only what is yours, from everywhere. My work lists the tasks assigned to you and the events you organise or attend, whether they sit on a customer, a document or a space. You plan from one list instead of opening every record you look after.

A waiting task is parked, not late. A task waiting for a customer’s floor plan is not your delay, so it stays out of Overdue and comes back in Needs me on its recheck day. Overdue then counts only what you have let slip, which makes it worth acting on.

Today is your today. Groups follow your own time zone, so a colleague in another office sees their own today and nothing shifts at midnight somewhere else.

It shows nothing extra. My work does not widen what you can see. A task in a members-only space you have left does not appear, so the page never reveals what your access does not allow.

  • Select a count to jump. The Overdue, Due today, Today’s events and Waiting cards take you straight to that list.
  • Tick, then undo if you slipped. Completing a task takes one tick; Undo appears for five seconds. See Tasks.
  • Add the next step from Needs me. An opportunity with no next step has Add next step, which opens a task already linked to it. See Opportunities.
  • Filter by sub-type. Use Sub-types to see only, say, your site visits.
  • Get the list by email. The morning to-do email sends your To do at the time you choose; see Notification settings.
  • Make it a weekly habit. The weekly sales routine starts from these lists.

At 8.30 am Marcus Tan opens My work. Under Overdue is yesterday’s call to Harbour Café; he rings Ahmad Salleh, logs the call as a communication on the café’s account and completes the task. Today shows a site visit at 2 pm and a quotation to revise. Waiting holds a task waiting on the café’s floor plan, so he leaves it. Last, he opens the calendar to book next week’s visits around his colleagues’ Busy slots.

On Wednesday 21 October, Daniel Lim’s Needs me shows “Opportunity Harbour Café — kitchen refit has no next step”. He selects Add next step. A new task opens, already linked to the opportunity; he types “Call about the tile choice”, sets it due on Thursday 22 October and posts it. The task appears under Next 7 days, and the item leaves Needs me because the opportunity now has an open task.

  • Why is my event not in Overdue? Only tasks become overdue. An event that has ended without an outcome appears in Needs me with Record outcome.
  • Why don’t I see a task I gave to a colleague? My work lists tasks assigned to you. Find the task on its record, or see your colleague’s numbers in the team view.
  • How far ahead does My work look? Seven days; the header shows the last day as Showing until. Use the calendar for later dates.
  • Can I see my colleagues’ tasks here? No. My work is yours alone; the team view shows your team’s week.
  • What is the number beside My work in the sidebar? Your open tasks that are not waiting, whatever their due date.
  • Why does My work say it shows only the first 100? A list holds at most 100 tasks. Finish or reschedule some to see the rest.
